Eocene Arts presents Japanese studio arts in bamboo, clay and bronze.
We offer works of the highest technical skill and aesthetic sophistication.
In Japanese basketry we feature the works of Iizuka Hosai II, Iizuka Rokansai, Tanabe Chikuunsai I and II, Shono Shounsai, Wada Waichisai II and III, Sakaguchi Sounsai, Ishikawa Shoun, Yokota Hosai, Kosuge Kogetsu, Suemura Shobun, Hayakawa Shokosai V,
Tanaka Kosai, and Abe Motoshi.
Our collection of ceramic arts centers on the work of Kawai Kanjiro and Hamada Shoji, as well as modernist innovators Yagi Kazuo, Suzuki Osamu and Kamoda Shoji.
We also love unusual mingei (folk) arts. A limited selection of these objects appears on the Eocene Extras page.
Our collection is always evolving. Recently acquired works often do not appear on this site for some time. We welcome inquiries about individual artists or special interests.
