A large basket of natural-colored madake bamboo. It's very rare to find baskets of this material made in this traditional Japanese random weave, sometimes also called rough- or coarse-weave, as this variety of bamboo does not tend to withstand the tight twists and bends, and most baskets of this kind and material show breaks especially around the rim. Here is a rare example in perfect condition.
