ANTIQUE JAPANESE HORSE BELLS, or BAREI

These bells would have been used by single riders, attached to the saddle blanket as shown in iconic images by master woodblock artist Katsushika Hokusai. Their bright sound was also considered as a good omen. Most showing here are in sets of two.
